Start a Chapter

Collegiate

Collegiate chapters of Mu Phi Epsilon may be established at universities, colleges, and schools of music which meet the accrediting standards as a school of music, and offer degree-granting curriculum in any field of music. Schools should have an enrollment of at least 25 music majors and minors. Please see the requirements below:

  • A faculty member will serve as faculty adviser, who need not be a member of Mu Phi Epsilon, but membership is preferred.
  • A written letter of permission from the music chairman or dean of the music school is required.
  • A minimum of 10 potential members should sign the petition to establish a new chapter. Of course, more than 10 is better.

Alumni

Alumni chapters may be established in any city, town, village, or contiguous geographic area where members of Mu Phi Epsilon reside. A petition must be signed by no fewer than 10 members of the fraternity wishing to organize a new alumni chapter.

Reactivate a Chapter

Collegiate

If you are interested in reactivating a collegiate chapter, gather as many other interested students as you can and contact [email protected], and we’ll help get the chapter up and running again. Remember, your fellow potential members must meet the Mu Phi Epsilon membership qualifications, but there is no minimum number required for reactivation.

Alumni

If the alumni chapter near you is inactive, and you know of other Mu Phi alumni members who would enjoy meeting together, contact [email protected] and we’ll help you get started. There is no minimum number of Mu Phi’s required for being together.
