Mu Phi Epsilon is a coeducational, professional music fraternity whose mission is:
- To advance music in the community, nation, and throughout the world;
- To promote musicianship, scholarship, music therapy, and music education, with emphasis on service through music; and
- To enhance loyalty to the Alma Mater and develop true bonds of friendship.
Mu Phi Epsilon was founded by Dr. Winthrop S. Sterling and Elizabeth Mathias Fuqua on November 13, 1903, at the Metropolitan College of Music, Cincinnati, Ohio. The Fraternity’s membership is composed of collegiate chapters, alumni chapters and allied members.
The Minneapolis St Paul Alumni Chapter is merged from the Greater Minneapolis Area Chapter - Day and Greater Minneapolis Chapter - Evening
The Day chapter was founded in 1923. The Evening chapter was founded in 1955, as the Richfield Chapter.
The Minneapolis St PaulAlumni Chapter membership includes music performers, educators, therapists, composers, church music leaders, organists/pianists.
