The S.E.R.V. program ~ the basis for "Service to Others through Music” ~ has a very important role in the structure of Mu Phi Epsilon.
Service to the Community: we participate in the music programs of our churches, perform with civic ensembles, and offer music management and fund-raising skills without any remuneration.
Education and music instruction: we provide private or group instrument instruction as well as lessons in music theory, music history, music appreciation, choral or instrumental conducting, musical theater direction and instrument demonstrations, with no remuneration.
Resource for musical activities with special populations: as individuals or together as a chapter service, we offer programming and group activities to those most disadvantaged or marginalized in our community, including the elderly, the hospitalized, special needs children and minority groups.
Volunteers: we donate our time and our talents to making our community and our world more beautiful.
